FCSP Toronto Fans partners with Newcomer Kitchen

FC St. Pauli Toronto Fans is pleased to announce we will be supporting a very special organization for the coming season, Newcomer Kitchen.

Newcomer Kitchen is a nonprofit organization that works with Syrian newcomer women, inviting a group every Wednesday to prepare 50 meals of traditional Syrian home-cooking at The Depanneur, a food events venue on College Street.

The meals created are sold online for pickup or delivery, and the proceeds shared among the cooks, using the women’s existing skills as a gateway to social and economic participation. In the last 2 years, the project has helped earn more than $100,000 for over 75 Syrian families.

The hope is to create a model and a playbook that can be replicated with any newcomer group, in any restaurant kitchen, in any city in the world.

FC St. Pauli Toronto Fans’ goals are to support this endeavour and these remarkable, talented women through donations, fundraising events, volunteering and promoting the sale of the wonderful meals they create each week. We’ll also promote their regular workshops and maybe take a few ourselves.

We’ll be collecting any donations at each match viewing so please donate what you can.
